Choke
dir by Michelle Latimer
My favorite of the program, this was a five minute stop motion film with music by Sparklehorse and David Lynch. Unfortunately the director had to leave Sundance before her world premiere, which has gotta suck.
Ebony Society
dir by Tammy Davis
Two teenage boys attempt to rob a house on Christmas but soon discover the house is not empty…there are two unsupervised children inside. Really sweet, I liked this one a lot.
Redemption

Yeah I’m not too sure what this film was about. A couple have some sort of tantric sex. She dies the next morning. He cuts his chest open in order to put blood on her lips and then has to tell her father that she’s dead.
Stones

The lighting and photography were great, but the story moved a little slow for me. Perhaps it was because it was 130am and I was battling sleepy eyes.
The Cave
dir by Helen Haig-Brown
This short contained one of the most beautiful shots I’ve seen in a long time. A man on one side of the forest, and a group of gold and bronze painted mysticals standing on the other. The man is hunting and discovers a cave which seems to be a portal to another dimension…I think. Or the afterlife.
The Rocket Boy
dir by Donovan Seschilie
The credit sequence was almost as long as the movie itself. I think I could have enjoyed this film if the music weren’t so sentimental.
Wapawekka

A kid takes a boat trip with his father. Pretty slow moving, but sweet.
